A local model means the AI runs on your Poopy device itself — not on distant servers. All analysis (e.g. Bristol scale, colour, consistency) and dialogue happen on-device. Your data never has to leave your home for the AI to work. That gives you better privacy and control: you own the device and the data on it.

Poopy's model adapts on-device from how you use it. You don't run a separate "training" step — the system learns from your scans and feedback over time, using only data stored on your Poopy. No personal data is sent to the cloud to train the model. We also run classes to teach you how to analyse your own poop data, visualise it, and build simple health trackers so you can take control of your own data.

Yes. You can share the physical device with a family member. Bear in mind that the on-device model and history are tied to that unit: if multiple people use the same Poopy, their data will be on the same device. For separate data and personalisation, each person would use their own Poopy (e.g. a second unit or Poopy Mini). The app can help you see whose data is whose if you use one device together.

Because all data lives on your Poopy, you can delete it by resetting the device. A full reset clears on-device history and resets the model. You stay in control: there is no need to contact a company or wait for a server to delete your data. We want you to take control of your own data.

No. Poopy supports digestive and stool-related insight as a core feature, but it can also support general wellness dialogue, reminders, and (where applicable) elderly care or pet health scanning. Think of it as an AI health companion that fits into your routine — with a strong focus on digestive health, but not limited to that alone.

Yes. Poopy can support pet health by helping you monitor your dog's or cat's stool — consistency, colour and frequency can signal digestive issues, diet problems or the need for a vet check. Because the AI runs locally on the device, you don't have to upload sensitive data to the cloud. Use one Poopy for your pet's routine, or keep separate units for pet and human so data stays distinct.

Elderly people are often more at risk of digestive and bowel issues, and changes in routine can be an early sign of illness or medication effects. Poopy lets them — or their carers — track patterns discreetly at home, without frequent clinic visits or invasive tests. Optional subscription tiers may exist for advanced insights or exports, but the aim is that you are not forced to pay monthly to use your own data.
